Cleophus Southward, 65, died Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born in Tishomingo, MS and worked in maintenance for the Natchez Trace for eighteen years. He was a member of Carter’s Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be Saturday, June 6, 1 p.m. at Carter’s Branch Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS with Pastor Tyrone Southward officiating. Burial will be in Carter’s Branch Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years – Phyllis Southward, Tishomingo, MS; two children – Josh Southward (Carneisha) and Amanda LaKeshia Williams (Benji); five grandchildren – Jaylan Williams, Tylen Williams, Elijah Williams, Jacolby Williams and Jaxson Williams; six brothers – Houston Southward (Ernestine), Jimmy Southward, Sr. (Christine), Wendell Southward (Lanell), Billy Southward, James Southward (Gwen) and Wilmer Southward (Glorastine); one sister – Louvenia Powell (George Sr.) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucion and Elviria Southward and brothers and sisters, Della Cummings, Lucion Southward, Floyd Southward, Truman Southward and Louise Powell.

Pallbearers will be Brad Harris, Will Holland, Cleveland Southward, Randall Southward, George Southward, Darryl Southward, Jimmy Southward and Stephen Powell.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 6, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Carter’s Branch Cemetery.
