Cledis Stevens
March 18, 1932 – June 21, 2017
Mr. C.R. Stevens, age 85, husband of Barbara Stevens, and a resident of Lyles, TN, passed away Wednesday evening, June 21, 2017 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 2-4PM at Shady Grove Church of God in Pinewood, TN. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 18, 1932 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, C.R. was the son of the late John Thomas Stevens and the late Pearl Virginia Garrett Stevens. He served his country in the United States Navy and previously worked as a farmer and worked in a steel mill in Michigan.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his son: John Thomas Stevens II of Hickman County; daughters: Michelle Marie (Ted) Kinnane of Murfreesboro, Candace Flowers of Hickman County, Cynthia “Cindy” L. Trombley of Hickman County, Wendy Sue Garvon of Hickman County; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Shellie Stevens; brothers: Thomas Stevens, George Stevens; sisters: Nancy Stevens Zink, Jean Stevens Botsford; and son-in-law: Gary Garvon.
