Mr. Cledis Jefferson Black, 88, of Murfreesboro, TN, died on Saturday, July 11, 2020.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 1:00 pm cst at Espy Cemetery with Rev. Pat Coffee and Cory Walker officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 am cst until time of service at Smyrna Holiness Church. Pallbearers will be Travis Owens, Shawn Gilliam, Kevin Keys, Luis Melendez, Michael Bridges, and Logan Coffee.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Black; granddaughters, Kimberly Buford (Andre) of Spring Hills, FL, Bethany Walker (Cory) of Scottsboro, AL, and Tamara Kirby of Murfreesboro, TN; great grandchildren, Sierra Fortney, Courtney Walker, Peyton Walker, and Jarett Walker; great great grandchild, Lakynn Grace Walker, which he referred to as the smartest kid he ever saw; and sister, Annie Potter.
He is preceded in death by his son and daughter in law, Jerry Glen Black and Faye Black; granddaughter, Lisa Dawn Black; parents, Henry and Igral Black; sisters, Catherine Fortner, Erlene Campbell, and Alma Wright.
