Claymon Burns “Tippy” Collums, Jr., 68, died Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1954, in Missouri to Claymon Burns Collums, Sr. and Marie Reeves Collums. He was a longtime roofer and carpenter. He was a simple man who enjoyed fishing especially catching catfish.

Tippy is survived by his 11 siblings, Betty Marie Brown of Florida, Bobby Russell (Teddy) of Pontotoc, Wanda Wilson of Tupelo, Mary Irby of Tupelo, Tommy Collums (Betty) of Louisiana, Johnnie Strickland (Larry) of Tishomingo, Janet Fleming of Tupelo, Edith Hamilton (Perry) of Iuka, Jeanine Morphis of Verona, Lena Welch (Joe) of Louisiana, and Lisa Borden of Alabama; and nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claymon Burns Collums, Sr. and Marie Reeves Collums; brothers, Bo and Red Collums; great-nephews, L. J. Buchanan and Krisstoffer Collums.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time Saturday, November 5, 2022, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

A celebration of life service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Private burial will follow at Robbs Cemetery in Chickasaw County.
