Claudy Wesley Deaton, 71, died Friday, July 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Mississippi and was a logger for more than twenty-five years. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, Tishomingo, MS.

Memorial services will be Thursday, July 22, 2 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS assisted the family.

He is survived by his wife – Judy McVay Deaton, Tishomingo, MS; one daughter – Tonya Long (Dickey) Red Bay, AL; two sons – Jamie Deaton (Nerissa and children) Tishomingo, MS and Matthew Loveless (Jennifer) Cherokee, AL; two sisters – Margaret Robinson, Tishomingo, MS and Sarah George, Belmont, MS; grandchildren – Justin Pounders, Tyler Deaton, Cole Deaton (Kim), Ben Loveless, Taylor Loveless, Kaeleigh Loveless and Torie; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chamlis and Earline Deaton, a son, Jason Loveless, two brothers-in-law, Riley George and Charles Robinson and an infant nephew, Claudy Wesley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 st.jude.org or Landmark Baptist Church.
