Claudius Wayne Hopkins, 86, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, AL. He was born in Golden, MS to Dayton and Ethel Humphress Hopkins. He was retired from Schnadig and attended Red Bay Holy Church of Christ.
There will be a private burial at Ridge Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by a son, Bobby Hopkins (Barbara); step-son, Kenneth Pounders (Linda); grandchildren, Michelle Dingler (Chris), Latisha Credille (Jamie) and Chad Hopkins (Stacey); great-grandchildren, Tuston and Abe Dingler, Billie, Preston and Carlie Hopkins, Madison and Kayleigh Stokes and Baileigh Toney; three great-great-grandchildren, Arabella Young, Jamison Toney and Elena Toney and his good friend, Robert “Sport” Light.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Hall Hopkins, son, Billy Hopkins; his parents, two sisters, Gladys Davis and Geraldine Kitchens and one brother, Orville Hopkins.
