Claudia Spires, age 77 of Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a member of the Valdosta Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia. Ed White will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Spires; daughter, Brenda; baby boy; mother, Evelyn Slatton; father, Robert Slatton; brother, Boyd Slatton; aunt, Lucille Mills; uncle, Rayford Mills; aunt, Baby Mitchell; and brother-in-law, John D. Spires.
Claudia is survived by her son, Anthony “Tony” Spires and wife Rachel; grandson, Neal Spires (Krysten); granddaughter, Jamie Swinea (Michael); grandson, Jimmy Bonner; brothers, Winston Slatton (Debbie) and Doug Slatton (Candy); sister, Jenny Kay Slatton; brothers-in-law, Billy Spires and Hubert Spires; sister-in-law, Betty Spires; niece, Sharon Thomason (Greg); great-grandchildren, Daren Spires, Alissa Swinea and Addison Spires; and many nieces and nephews on the Spires and Pate side. She loved all of her family dearly.
The family would like to send special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Kenneth Rose, Dr. Therese Lango and Helen Keller Hospital.
Claudia will be truly missed by her family and friends.
