Claude Henry went to his heavenly home on March 11, 2024 in Memphis, Tennessee. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the North Carolina Church of Christ in Killen, Alabama. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.
Claude was a co-owner of Henry’s Auto Supply in Tuscumbia, Alabama along with his brothers from 1960 – 1980. He retired from Genuine Parts Company after 36 years. He also seved for six months in the Army then transferred to the National Guard of Alabama serving for eight years total. He loved playing golf and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
Survivors include: Wife: Carol Cain Henry; Sons: Vance Henry (Katrina), Vaughn Henry (Emily); Granddaughters: Chelsea Whitlock (Tanner) and Rheagan Burgess (Brett); Grandsons: Luke and Eli Henry; Great-grandsons: Ripley Whitlock and Olen Burgess; Stepdaughter: Lisa Durfee; Stepson: Nicholas Deaton and Stepgranddaughter: Abby Barber; Sister: Geraldine West; Brother-in-law: Lyle Hendrix; Sister-in-law: Juanita Henry; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: Parents: Olen and Thelma Henry; Brothers: Mathis Henry and wife Dorothy, Lee Henry and Billy Harold Henry; Sister: Oconee Hendrix; Brother-in-law: Bill West; Mother of his sons: Virginia English Henry.
