McMinnville resident and Warren County native Clata Grove Deakins Kell, age 95, was born March 22, 1928, and died Thursday, February 29, 2024, at N.H.C. Healthcare of McMinnville. She was the daughter of the late John William and Etta McGregor Grove, was a retired teacher in the Warren County School System for 35 years, and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church since 1941. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands William H. Deakins and Thomas M. Kell.
She is survived by her sister Anna Belle Grove of McMinnville, step-sons, Neiman (Dorinda) Kell and Trent (Tonya) Kell, step-grandsons Keaton (Carissa) Kell, Jude (Wendy) Kell, and Jonathan Kell, step great-grandchildren Lilyanne, Campbell, Noah, Sawyer, and Calvin Kell, sister-in-law Sarah Kell, special niece and family Julia (Barry) Stephens and Jessica and Brandon. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 03, 2024, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Jackie Matheny will officiate. Interment will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. Noon until the time of service at 3:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shellsford Cemetery Upkeep Fund for perpetual care.
