Expecting a new addition to your family? Helen Keller’s Childbirth Classes begin on February 6! This is a three week program. For registration information, contact the Education Department at (256) 386-4030.
The Helen Keller Wellcare Center will hold a ribbon cutting and give tours on Wednesday, February 12 at 1:30 pm. The Wellcare Center has a new look and they want you to see it. Come for the tour and ribbon cutting refreshments to follow the tour.
Diagnosed with Diabetes? Classes for February will be held on the 5th and 18th for the Diabetes Self Management Education Classes. These classes are recognized by the American Diabetes Association, they teach you to manage your diabetes through medication, diet and exercise. Physician referral and advance registration are required. Call 256.386.4029 for registration and more information.
February 7 is the next session for FREE Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Screening Clinic which is held by the Helen Keller Volunteer Services Department twice each month in the hospital lobby. these clinics are held twice monthly from 8 am until 12 pm.
Healthy Valley Women will sponsor an informative session on orthopedic health Thursday, February 20 at 12 pm. The speaker is Dr. Lee Nichols of Shoals Orthopedics. Lunch will be served and seating is limited call 256.386.4747 to RSVP.
Helen Keller Hospital’s Education Department offers CPR Certification and Renewal each month. This month’s session will be Friday, February 28. Renewal classes are held at 7:30 am and 1 pm. Certification class will be at 10 am. All classes are held in the River Room in the Helen Keller Hospital basement. there will be a $50.00 fee for attendees not employed by HKH.
