Funeral service for Clarence Eugene Maples, 77, will be Saturday, May 6,
2023 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Hudson
officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Red Hill
Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Maples died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He
was born April 21, 1946, in Limestone County, to Roy Hobart Maples and
Bertha Lee Montgomery Maples. He was employed by the Federal Bureau of
Prisons as a Corrections Officer, prior to his retirement. He was a United
States Army Green Beret Special Forces Veteran, fulfilling his service in
the Vietnam War.
Mr. Maples was a loving husband and a caring father, grandfather and great
grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Willard
Maples and Roy Maples, Jr. and a sister: Sybil Tipper.

Jonathan Kilpatric and Joe McCaghren.
