Clarence Albert Henley, age 71 of the Holders Cove Community in Winchester, passed away from this life on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Thomas West in Nashville.

He was a 1970 graduate of Franklin County High School and resided in Winchester, Tennessee all of his life. Clarence was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors on the farm. Clarence was always willing to help anyone in need and loved to feed his visitors. If you left his house hungry, it was your own fault. He retired from CSX Transportation in June 2012, where he was known by the nickname “Clean”, because of his ability to stay clean in every dirty job.

Clarence was a good honest, hardworking man that loved God and his family. He was a member of White Oak Grove Church of God in Oak Grove. On October 12, 1973, Clarence married his sweetheart Arlene Kaye Sanson and together they raised two sons, Matthew (Stacey) Henley and John Henley. They were married for fifty years.

Clarence is the seventh son of Herman and Kathleen (Webb) Henley, who proceed him in death; brothers, Herman Lee Henley, Andrew Jackson Henley, Alfred Ray Henley and Billy Wayne Henley.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his grandchildren, Makayla (Luke) Kimbril, Kyle Henley and Caden Henley; brothers, Paul Henley, Buford Henley, and Donald Henley; several nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dog “Charlie”.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 11:00am at from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
