Clara Sue Benson, age 83 of Double Springs, entered into rest on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Cullman Regional Medical Center, Cullman, Alabama.
She was born on April 18, 1929, in Nauvoo, Alabama to Dewey and Louvenia Short Barton. She was a member of Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church, Double Springs. Her hobbies included, canning, sewing and taking care of people especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked as a supervisor at Haleyville Textile Mills.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 1-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, at 2:30pm at Winston Memorial Cemetery, Haleyville, Alabama. Brother Jeff Wiggins will officiate.
She is survived by her grand children, Holly Benson, Mandi Renea Benson, and Jeremy Brett Benson; great grandchildren, Cody Sebaugh, Halie Sebaugh, Robbie Painter, Madison Katheryne Lee, Michael William Lee, and Kara Benson; brothers, Edward and Barthel Barton; sisters, Velmar Chambless, Bernice Banks, Pearlie (Willard) Pickard and Faye (Dalton) Thrasher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Benson; son Terry Benson; and her patents, Dewey and Louvenia Benson.
