Clara Lucille Young Scheele age 89, passed away December 14, 2021 at Savannah Healthcare and Rehab Center.
She was born April 23, 1932 in Yawkey, WV and grew up in Gladwin, Michigan, the daughter of the late John William and Nellie Bays Young. She graduated from High School in Beaverton, Michigan in 1950. She married Herbert Harold Scheele. They made their home in Jefferstown, KY and later in Jackson, TN. She moved to the Luray community in 1997. She was a member of the Mifflin Baptist Church.
She went to McCollum & Ross Beauty School then worked as a hairdresser at Fantastic Sam’s.
Mrs. Scheele is survived by two sons, Danny Scheele and wife Karen of Crump, TN and Michael Scheele and wife Bonita of Pinson; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Harold Scheele; two sons, Casey Scheele and Eric Jeff Schelle; five brothers, James Clayton Young, Howard Leo Young, Arthur N. Young, Richard M. ‘Joe’ Young and Luther L. Young and four sisters, Loretta LaForest, Carol Jolane Densmore, Dorothy Jean Owens and Eva Rebecca Gellis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 17th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM Friday until service time at 2:00 PM.
