Graveside services for Clara Jordan, 95, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mask and social distancing will be required.
Mrs. Jordan died on Friday August 14, 2020 at Dogwood Assisted Living. She was born on March 21, 1925 in Alcorn County to the late Will and Anna Choat Strachan. She was a 1943 graduate of Glendale High School. She met her future husband John selling movie tickets at the Pickwick Theater and were married for 56 years until his passing. She worked as a book keeper for Strachan Brothers Feed Mill for many years. She was the oldest member of Hopewell United Methodist. She was an avid Mississippi State fan and enjoyed tending to her garden and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Fulghum and Vicki Bowen (Richard); grandchild, Thad Fulghum (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Katie Beth Fulghum; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Jordan; brothers, Luther, Elmer, Stanford and Lornia Strachan; sisters, Mamie Strachan, Bessie Page, Nellie Hardwick, Mary Julia Haynes, Lena Strachan and Ollie V. Strachan and son-in-law, Benny Fulghum

Rev. Kim Parker and Rev. Lud Ludlam will officiate the services.

Arrangements are under the care of McPetes Inc. Funeral Home
