Clara Janelle Johnson, 85, of Fort Payne, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at her home. She was born October 23, 1939 in Georgia to the late Harvey Brooks and Addie Sue Carrell Brooks. She was a member of Ruhama Missionary Baptist Church and the Lookout Mountain Homemakers Club. She loved flowers and gardening and crocheting hats and blankets for the cancer center patients and homeless community.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 19th at Ruhama Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. hour of service at the church.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Weinz and husband Kevin; brothers Charles Brooks and Harvey Lee Brooks; sister Hannah Cordle; grandchildren Christopher Lorren, Phillip Lorren, Tonya Conway, Michael Blackwood, Ben Blackwood, step-grandchildren Courtney Weinz and Kevin Weinz II; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children Connie Blackwood and Mike Blackwood, grandson Robbie Lorren, and sister Mary Lou Evans.
