Clara Jane Harrison Tucker passed away at the golden age of 93. She was born and raised in Michigan, the oldest of nine children.

Clara Jane worked at a local Michigan orchard the summer after she graduated from high school, saving her earnings to fund a train trip to visit distant cousins in Alabama in 1949. Little did she know 75 years later that Alabama would become her forever home with a life full of memories with her own little family. She repeatedly said there was no place better than Huntsville to call home in the state of Alabama.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Bob, Jim, Bill, and Pat Harrison, her husband of 58 years, Tommy Tucker, and son, Lt. Colonel Thomas Edward “Eddie” Tucker Jr.

Survivors include her four sisters, Irene, Christine, Pauline, and Josephine; daughter, Connie Tucker Long (Wayne); daughter-in-law, Sandra Tucker; grandson, Thomas Edward Tucker III of Tucson, AZ; and a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Ave., Huntsville, AL 35805. The date and time will be announced in the near future. Burial will be at Forrest Lawn Cemetery, 730 Golden Springs Road, Anniston, AL 36201.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, 5003 Whitesburg Dr. SE, Huntsville, AL, 35802.
