Clara B. Chase, 84, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Clara was born on June 9, 1939, to Clidie Mae Tucker Chumley and James Norman Tucker. She married the love of her life, Veston Eudell Chase, and had a wonderful 64 years with him until his passing in July of 2023. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending services and singings whenever she was able. In the early ‘60s, Clara went to beautician school, and although she didn’t use her license much, she loved having it and kept it active. She retired from the Burnsville School System after working many years in the lunchroom and as a bus driver. In her free time, she enjoyed doing anything that involved music. She was a talented singer and player of the Dulcimer, Piano, Guitar, and Auto Harp and could play by ear. She loved the Dulcimer and was a member of the Magnolia Dulcimer Club in Corinth. Clara is survived by her children, Michael R. Chase, Gregory L. Chase (Karen), Beverly K. Medley (Joey), and Tim A. Chase (Lisa); her grandchildren, Michael Chase, Jr. (Mandy), Heather Lee Chase (Abdul), Nick Medley (Haleigh), Brandon Chase (Erika), Erica Wilkins (Johnny), Zac Chase, Maria Medley, and Ashley Medley; her great-grandchildren, Kylee and Kaiden Medley and Olivia Chase; her sister, Charlene Heiding; and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Veston Eudell Chase; her parents, James Norman Tucker and Clidie Mae Tucker Chumley; and her siblings, Howard Tucker, Ray Tucker, Pearl Brown, Billy Gene Tucker, Mary Norsworthy, Frances Wales, Eva Cissell, and Betty Beck. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. James Rich. Interment will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Clara’s honor to the American Heart Association.
