Christopher “Pierre” Bailey, 40, of Winthrop Harbor, IL and formerly of Leighton, AL, died May 14, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Pierre was born May 7, 1974 in Colbert County, AL and graduated from Colbert County High School Class of 1993. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell CPCA, Leighton, AL. He has lived in the Winthrop Harbor area since 1997. Pierre attended the First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor and was employed as a pressman at NOSCO in Gurnee since 1997. He was an avid Alabama football fan, and was a member of the Evil Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Illinois. He was also a member of the Hopewell Lodge 198, AF & AM Grand Lodge of Alabama.
Pierre is survived by his children Alexa J. Bailey of Russellville, AL, Jordan J. Bailey of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and E-Mani J. Bailey of Brandon, FL; step-children Hailey A. Ruple, Deryk J. Ruple, and Teigan J. Ruple, of Winthrop Harbor, IL; one godson Jayden Fonder, of Waukegan, IL; mother Helen J. Bailey of Leighton, AL; father Kary P. Thompkins of Tuscumbia, AL; brothers and sisters, Pastor Anthony (Andrea) Bailey of Raleigh, NC, Tremayne (Leon) Hinnant of Clayton, NC, Moneak Bailey of Leighton, AL, Patrina Carter of Tuscumbia, AL, Erica Thompkins of Tuscumbia, AL, Eboni (Sedric) Thompkins-Weber of Charleston, SC, and Kary N. Thompkins of Tuscumbia, AL; godsister Rose Jackson of Tuscumbia, AL; grandmother Mizella Bailey of Leighton, AL; special loving friend Tiffany Taylor of Pleasant Prairie, WI; devoted friend Jessi Ruple of Winthrop Harbor; special Illinois father and mother Jim and Kim Leech of Winthrop Harbor; and many other aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Joe Bailey Sr.
