Christopher Neal “Batman” Pruitt, 51, passed away at his home on Monday, June 26, 2023, in Smithville. Chris was born on October 11, 1972, in Amory to Adrian Paul Pruitt and Nancy Elizabeth Johnson Eastman. He attended Hatley School and before becoming disabled, he worked several years at Wal-Mart, Dollar General, and in security for Gilmore Memorial Hospital. Chris was an avid collector of anything Batman and he loved his dog, Chica, and pet ferret, Selena. He was a member of Christian Free Will Baptist Church, and he loved being with his family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the Amory Historical Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Eastman (Harold) of Wren; his grandmother, Joy Scott of Amory; one daughter Elizabeth Pruitt of Wren; stepsister, Caye Barnett (Jesse) of Amory; stepbrother, Jimmy Eastman of Greer, SC; uncles, Mike Johnson (Rhonda) of Greenwood Springs and Steve Johnson (Mary) of Smithville; aunt, Carolyn Barrett (Paul) of Becker; a host of cousins; and special friends, Gary Brown, Ethan Brown, and Cindy Germain.
He was preceded in death by his father, and by his grandfather, J.C. Johnson.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
