Christopher Joel McWhorter, age 33 of Nashville, TN passed away May 31, 2024. He was born in Nashville, TN and was a 2010 Graduate of Ravenwood High School. Joel was very passionate about music, especially rock and metal. At a young age, his father taught him how to play the drums. He quickly became an extremely talented, award winning drummer and played in numerous bands. He was a true rockstar. He was unapologetically funny and made everyone around him laugh. He was the owner and operator of Christopher Optical and was excited to be a part of the optical business, furthering his dad’s legacy. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved his family deeply. Joel is preceded in death by his father, Christopher Kent McWhorter; grandparents, David Wayne McWhorter and Bobbie Ray Miller. He is survived by his mother, Hope Renee McWhorter of Smyrna, TN; sister, Jade McWhorter Morris and brother in law, Jacob Matthew Morris of Newberry, FL; grandmothers, Beverly Gene Miller of Union City, TN and Matilda Ann McWhorter of Mount Pleasant, TN. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, June 5, 2024 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN.
