Christopher Gene Tyra, age 44, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Saturday, March 09, 2024, at his residence.

To our Chris, that loved his family, we offer some thoughts and reflections: “There are so many words that can describe what a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and uncle you are.  They include good, smart, dependable, honest, respectful, playful, strong, brave, helpful, generous, kindhearted, good cook, funny, and good neighbor.  You are the biggest Alabama fan that anyone could meet.  You are the type of person that would give you his shirt off his back and shoes off his feet.  You love to drive, love sports, and exercising.  Not many people can accomplish what you did in one lifetime, even in three lifetimes.  You are a legend, and we will try our best to uphold your legacy.  You always protected your lil sis and you are an awesome and unbelievable big brother.”

“You are Dad’s proud truck-driving son.”

“There are not enough words to describe how I feel for Chris.  Chris was the best big brother and the best friend I could have ever asked for.  I’ll never know anyone like him again, so pure hearted and loving.  He would do anything for me, he would do anything for anyone.  The rest of my life will never be the same.  I look forward to the day I get to see Chris again.  I love you and will always miss you Chris, Your loving little brother, Noah.”

“You are my world and my everything.  You were always there for me when no one else was.  You are the one that taught me how to be so strong.  I will never forget your smile, your eyes, and your laugh that I love so much.  I love you for who you are and who you wanted our boys to be.  I have been and will always forever be yours.  You are my one and only.  I love you so much Chris.  Always, always, always yours, Christi.”

“We love you with all of our hearts.”

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Jo (Robinson) Tyra, Gerald Tyra, Vernon Sam Aderholt, and Lois Jean (Bates) Aderholt.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 17 years, Christi Leigh (Brown) Tyra; children, Eli Bryant Tyra, Trent Michael Tyra, Peyton Mariah Tyra; parents, Ronnie Gene Tyra and Brenda Sue (Aderholt) Tyra; brothers, Noah Lynn Tyra (Kelly), Johnathan Michael Tyra (Megan); sister, Jennifer Sue Tyra Odom; nieces & nephews, Emme Sue Odom, Johnavan Michael Tyra, Brady Lynn Odom, Jalen Michael Tyra, J’Leigh Tyra, Jeremiah Michael Tyra; and a host of friends.
