Christopher "Cody" Humphrey Christopher “Cody” Humphrey, 39, of Ohatchee, AL, passed away on October 25, 2023. Cody was a very outgoing and funny person who was often misunderstood. He had a huge heart underneath all his toughness and was known to be the life of the party. He had many friends from around the US and cherished his twins, Ollie and Tatum, more than anything. Cody was an avid fan of Ohio State football and enjoyed riding his Harley.
Cody had a strong bond with his army brothers, considering them as his real brothers. He served in the Army from March 31, 2005, to April 27, 2008, as an E-4 Corporal with the Attack Company in Iraq. His military service was a significant part of his life, and he valued the camaraderie and shared experiences with his fellow soldiers.
Cody is survived by his children, Ollie and Tatum Humphrey, his father and mother, John and Cindy Humphrey, his sisters Kasey (Luke) Weaver and Brandi Abernathy, and the mother of his children, Kaley Thrower. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Mary (Harry) Garrett and Linda Hale, his nephew Jayden Abernathy, and his nieces Kensley Abernathy, Emery and Esmae Weaver. As well as his maternal mother, Allison Dennis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd Hale, Linda M. Hale, Billy Mitchell, Mary Dennis and Risdon Franklin Dennis.
Cody was a 2002 graduate of Ohatchee High School, where he played football and baseball. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed being a wanderer and drifter, exploring new places and experiences.
A visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 1pm, followed by a service at 2pm at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, located at 6510 Boiling Springs Rd, Ohatchee, AL 36271.
Cody will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his dedication to his family and friends, and his service to his country. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
