Christine White Cox – Obituary

Christine White Cox was born on March 24, 1931, in Wayne County, to the late Millard and Myrtle Cossey White.

On August 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jessie Lyn Cox, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2008.

Mrs. Cox was a member of the White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. She loved to cook, to garden, to can food, and to watch after her grandchildren.

Mrs. Cox departed this life at Jackson Madison Country General Hospital on September 18, 2013, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 25 days.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Lambert of Savannah, Tennessee and three sons, David Cox of Morristown, Tennessee and Harley Cox and James Cox, both of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister, Nellie Smith of Savannah, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eldredge White.
