Christine Ricks Brown was born June 5, 1955 to the late Abraham and Queen Esther Jackson Ricks. She gained her wings on March 31, 2019. Christine loved the Lord and was an active evangelist at her church. She loved to sing “My Body Belongs to God” and other songs of Zion. She loved her church family who has supported her through illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a special cousin-nephew, Joel Lamar Ricks.
She owned and managed Brown’s Heavenly Fish with her husband. Before that, she owned Christine’s Catering. She was a very innovative person, always thinking of new ideas. She had just a few months ago spoke of an idea for umbrellas.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories, her beloved husband, the love of her life, Elder Billy Glenn Brown; one son, Emmanuel (Paula) Brown; one daughter, Tabitha Brown; four grandchildren, Tavian Brown, Caleb Brown, Chloe Brown and Chelsea Brown; one brother, Bishop Ervin (Rosie) Ricks; three sisters, Oppia Ricks Burke, Idell Ricks and Beverly (Dwight) Haley; two sisters-in-law, Pat Brown and Carrie Helen Wright-Briscoe (Melvin); one uncle, Theodore (Bobbie) Ricks; special niece, Crystal (Shane) Lovelady; special nephews, Lorenzo (Jackie) Burke and Marcus Burke; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Funeral service for Evangelist Brown will be Friday, April 5, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Healing Fountain Apostolic Church, Sheffield, with Bishop Thomas Owens, officiating. Burial in Shoals Memorial Garden, Tuscumbia. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, directing.
