Helen Christine FowlerMrs. Christine Fowler, age 100, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Fowler was born on July 20, 1921, in Etowah County, Alabama to John and Hannah Towers. She and her husband, James (Jim) K. Fowler were married on May 5, 1943 in Etowah County. She grew up in Gadsden and moved to Marshall County where she lived for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Guntersville where she taught Sunday School. She attended Arab First Baptist Church for the last several years.

She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1938. She also attended Gadsden Business College with a math and bookkeeping certification in 1940. Contributions to her community over her long and full life consists of: Red Cross Gray Lady volunteer, substitute teacher, member of Guntersville Health Service for recruiting doctors, health department and well baby clinics, worked in tax assessors office, Reading Buddy at local elementary schools, was active in RSVP, worked at the information desk for Marshall Medical Center North, visited heart patients at Montclair Hospital before they went to surgery and also after surgery, and many other contributions/awards.

She leaves behind to celebrate her life with sons, Dr. Bruce W. Fowler (Carol) and Jeffrey T. Fowler (Vanessa); grandchildren, Christopher Fowler (Jana) and Teri Brandon (Thomas); great grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Mia and Reid Fowler and Tripp and Tinley Brandon. Special care givers, Nicole Hollis, Ashley Cunningham, Lee Bunch, Jennie McCormick (Caring Angels).

Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her husband Jim Fowler, parents John and Hannah Towers, brother Byrum Towers, sisters Tommie Spradlin and Dean Peagler.

A visitation will be held at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00am at Marshall Memorial Gardens (Highway 205) with Christopher Fowler and Charles Shaddix officiating.

Long time friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John Boggess, Dr. Andy Finlay, Jr., Dr. Mike Carboni, Mary Sunday School Class, L.L.L. Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial to Big Oak Ranch and/or Four Friends International.
