Christopher Jude Craigie Profile PhotoChris Craigie abruptly passed away on November 2, 2024 at age 60, in the Emergency Room at North Hospital in Jackson, TN, after suffering health complications at home.

Christopher Jude Craigie was born on September 22, 1964 to Albert and Catherine Craigie. He attended Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, graduated in 1982, then enrolled in Louisiana State University. In 1988, he married his best friend Mary Bertucci. A year later, he graduated LSU with a Bachelor’s of Psychology. When Chris and Mary decided to start a family, he elected to stay home to raise and homeschool their six children. In 2003, the Craigie family left their stomping grounds for a new life in Jackson, Tennessee.

Chris passionately preserved knowledge of history by participating in WWII reenactments in the Houston, TX, area during his 20’s. He harbored a deep devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and our Blessed Mother Mary. He labored to strengthen and spread the Catholic Faith as a the youth minister for St. Margaret Mary Parish in Slidell, LA. Chris also served as a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in New Orleans, LA. Fitting indeed that he should be gathered to the God he served so well on All Souls Day.

Chris loved spending time with his family whether at home playing cards and watching movies, or at the lake fishing. The only birthday present he wanted was for his beloved wife and children to be with him for every birthday. He considered it the happiest present he could ask for. Chris and Mary were happily married for 36 years, only separated by his passing. He is survived by Mary and their 6 children: Brittany Marie Fool, Theresa Elizabeth, Melissa Anne, Elizabeth Ann, Sarah Mae, and Christopher Jude II.

A funeral mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  The burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
