Chester Walls Chester Walls, 85, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Monday.

Chester and his wife Sue were married for 47 years. He received the Holy Ghost on July 4, 1996 and his home church was Landmark Free Holiness Church. Chester was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea, Germany, Alaska and three tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1973 after 20 years of service SGT 1st class. He received a bronze star, air medal, Army commendation medal and numerous other awards, citations and ribbons. After his retirement he and Sue moved to Tennessee and he continued his military service work at Ft. Campbell, KY as an aviation mechanic for seven more years. Chester also worked as truck driver for Peterbuilt and his trucker code name was “Easy Rider”. Chester will be fondly remembered as a “Jack of All Trades”. He built houses, helped with construction of the church and worked on many projects for friends and family. Chester will hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him and an incredibly special place in our hearts as our husband, father, brother and Grandpa.

He was preceded in death by father, Eddie Clayburn Walls; mother, Ella Odell Dunn Walls; sisters, Jimmie Lee Hornbuckle and Ruby Mae Skinner; brothers, E.C. “Buddy” Walls, Robert Earl Walls, David E. Walls, and Eddie Clayburn Walls, Jr..

Surviving are wife, Sue Baker Walls; brother, Ernest Edward (Carol) Walls; sister, Mary Louise (Earl) Walls; sister, Archie Mae (Charlie) Pogue; sister, Loretta Jo (Carlos) Holland; brother, Sammy Kane Walls; sister, Joyce Lorene Walls; sister-in-laws, Nell Walls and Carol Walls; children, Tonya Walls, Patsy Craig, Rick Walls, Sandra Moore, Sherry (Johnny) Williams, Lisa (Norman) Finnell, and Cathy Britton; step children, Jeff (Kim) Mefford and Randy (Sheila) Mefford; grandchildren, Allison (Colby) Holmes, Josh Goolsby, Ronnie Ivey Jr, Shay Dexter, Kara Hatfield, Corey Finnell, Kyle Finnell, Kalebh Finnell, and Hannah Johnston; step grandchildren, Caroline Mefford, Ashley Mefford, and Caitlyn Mefford; great grandchildren, Jordan, Kenadie, Jase, Ian, Evan, Collin, Brycen, Zander, and Eli; and step great-grandchild, Asa.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Landmark Free Holiness Church. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 11:00 AM with Bro. Chad Holland officiating.

Interment will be in the Green Valley Cemetery.
