Chester Paul Bass, Jr., 74, passed on Tuesday January 7, 2025, at his home. He graduated from Treadwell High School and was a Vietnam War veteran, where he received three bronze stars. Following his military service, he married his wife and began his career with Bellsouth, where he worked for over 30 years. Together they had three beautiful girls. After retiring from the telephone company, he and his wife enjoyed spending time with their family and traveling.
Survivors include his wife 53 years, Dorothy Bass, his 3 girls, Daniell (Kevin) Hoing, Jennifer (Jamie) Foshee, and Paula (McNeil) Stanford, 7 grandchildren, Brandon (Nicole) Keith, Victoria (Joe) Wages, Brittany (Hunter) Houston, Andrew (Meredith) Bridgman, Wyatt Stanford, JT (Haylee) Foshee, and Riley Stanford, 10 great-grandchildren, his mother, Sadie Bass, his brother, Larry (Dawn) Bass, and his sister, Ann (Darryl) Butler.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Paul Bass, Sr.
Services will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Visitation will begin at 12PM. Burial will follow in Valley Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Bridgman, Brandon Keith, Joe Wages, Wyatt Stanford, JT Foshee, and Hunter Houston.
