Chester L. Davis – Obituary

Chester L. Davis, 61, of Decatur was born April 18, 1957 in Hartselle and passed away September 4, 2018 in Decatur.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, worked for 35 years at Wolverine Tube as a group leader. He was a basketball referee and coached for Decatur City Youth League.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Bouldin Davis; sons, Checkton (Amy) and Joshua Davis, all of Decatur; siblings, Marilyn (Larry) Jones, Tony Davis, both of Hartselle, and Jimmy Davis of Decatur; in-laws, Brenda (Danny) Purnell of Madison, Lois Bouldin of Columbus, Ohio, Carrie Mae Brown of Cleveland, Ohio, Mable Davis of Decatur, Willie James Bouldin Jr. of Twinsburg, Ohio, Elliot Bouldin of Columbus, Ohio and Fulton Bouldin of Peoria, Illinois and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Hartselle Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Ivan Pride officiating and inhumation in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral. Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
