Chester Hollis Lawrence Jr. – Obituary

Chester Hollis Lawrence Jr., of Jacksonville, Florida was welcomed home on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2014. At his request there will be a private family service in his honor in Jacksonville.

Chester was born the son of a coal miner in Carbon Hill, Alabama, received his Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration degree from the University of Alabama, and served in the Navy in World War II. He had a distinguished career with the Treasury Department of the U.S. Government for thirty years. He was married to his wife, Lysbeth for 59 years when she passed away in 2007. On Sept. 22, 2013, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at The First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He is survived by sons, Robert (Ruth) Lawrence, of Dothan, Alabama, Matt (Donna) Lawrence, of Jacksonville, Florida.; grandchildren, Jenny Harrison and Ben Lawrence, of Dothan, Alabama.
