Chester Hardin, 92, died Friday, October 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 23, 1920 in Franklin County, AL. He was a farmer and a member and deacon of Pilot Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 7, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Al. with Bro. A.H. Akins and Bro. J.C. Blackburn officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife Virlie Hardin of Red Bay; two daughters-Patricia Harris of Red Bay and Betty Moore of Russellville; one son-Charles Hardin of North Port, AL; three granddaughters; one grandson; one great granddaughter; two great grandsons; one brother-Bob Hardin (Jean) of Red Bay; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents-Nash and Rena Gillette Hardin; his first wife-Oniece Hardin; one brother-Jim Hardin and two sisters-Tiny Gober and Marley Mae Thorn.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Weaver, Ronnie Wooten, Hugh Johnson, Phil Gray, Todd Hardin and Toby Gray.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday, October 6, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. and until service time on Sunday.
