Charlotte Spradling Long – Obituary

Charlotte Spradling Long, 86, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Creekside Manor. She was born January 19, 1932 in Mantachie, the daughter of Preston Dupree Spradling and Ruth Bourland Spradling. Charlotte was a dedicated pastor’s wife, serving beside her husband of 47 years, Rev. Paul Long who passed away in 2000. She also worked at the North MS Medical Center in the newborn nursery for 27 years. Charlotte was a member of the Beech Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 PM Tuesday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dennis Kizzire and Rev. Gwyn Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM on Tuesday. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Charlotte leaves behind her 2 children, Philip Long (Dot) of Cramerton, NC and Ruth Long of Ruleville, MS; 2 grandchildren, Melody Brantley (Eric) of Middlesex, NC and Meredith Long of Cramerton, NC; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Brantley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother, Gaither Spradling and a sister, Olene Cockrell.
