Charlotte McBride Clark, age 79, passed away Sept. 19, 2012. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tom Whatley officiating.
Mrs. Clark was born in Hillsboro, Alabama. She was a graduate of Hazelwood High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader and “Miss Hazelwood High.” She attended Florence State Teachers College, where she was honored as a beauty queen.
A great joy in her life was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, Auburn football and watching auto racing. She also loved animals, especially her cats. She was a resident and active charter member of Hunting Creek Club and previously served on the board for many years. She volunteered with American Red Cross for several years. Mrs. Clark enjoyed life to the fullest and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much, who also loved her too. She will be greatly missed.
Preceding her in death are parents, Darmer McBride Sr. and Trannie Parker McBride; brothers, Darmer McBride Jr. and William C. McBride; and sister, Ruth Vinson.
Survivors include children, Charlotte “Charley” Hall Lawson (Buddy), Scarlotte Hall Gargis (Phil), Johnny Hall and Penny Hall Wells (Tim); grandchildren, Phillip Gargis (Carrie), Parker Gargis (Meagan), Kathryn Gargis, John Miller Lawson (Jordyn), Deanna Hitt (Michael), Shannon Turner (Slim), Tanner and John Wells and Anthony Lawson (Rena); and great-grandchildren, Preston Turner and Valerie Hitt.
