Charlotte Bryan Feigley was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on February 5, 1950 to Evelyn and James Raymond Bryan. Their family moved to Athens in 1957.

She graduated from Athens High School in 1968. Charlotte left Athens starry-eyed and focused on her next adventure as a student at Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Tampa, Florida. She modeled at local charity events and department stores after she completed school.

Charlotte met George in high school. They had their first date at an Alabama vs Tennessee football game. Alabama lost that game but Charlotte and George won a beautiful romance of 55 years. They married on January 24, 1970.

Charlotte’s interest in modeling was always evident in the way she presented herself. She was always elegantly turned out; from her beautiful clothing, the perfect shade of polish on her nails to her jewelry. She loved to dress. That eye for fashion led her to start a Doncaster clothing business. For over 25 years, Charlotte helped style the women of Athens and the local area. She loved helping people find the perfect ensemble.

Charlotte worked at Athens State University for 30 years. She served North Alabama educators at the North Alabama Teacher Exchange. She continued her career as assistant director when NATE was renamed the Athens State Regional In-Service Center. Charlotte retired from the position of Director of the In-Service Center in 2018. She was instrumental in bringing Stephen Covey’s Leader in Me program to many Alabama schools. Many ideals and values learned from this program are still in place in our schools today.

She is survived by her husband, George William Feigley, Jr; daughter, Dawn Feigley South (John); son, George William Feigley, III (Beth); and daughter, Mary Katherine Littrell (Adam); brother, James Raymond Bryan (Lu); her grandchildren, Brynn Elisabeth South, Maxlyn Briley South, Savannah Grace Littrell, Ella Katherine Littrell, Jackson Creed Littrell, Hayden Hudson, and Will Hudson

She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Bryan, and parents, James Raymond Bryan and Evelyn Bryan Jones.

Pallbearers are John South, Adam Littrell, Sam Bryan, Nick Bryan, Chuck Feigley, Bill Feigley, Eric Feigley, and Brandon Feigley.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Joel Carwile and Johnny Evans officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be Athens City Cemetery.
