Charlie Ray Absher of Hanceville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was born August 26, 1942 to Wiley Ray and Annie P. Davis Absher.
Mr. Absher served as a firefighter in Birmingham, Alabama for 20 years. He was also the owner of Star Fire Equipment for 30 years. Mr. Absher’s commitment to serve continued through being a volunteer firefighter for many years at different locations. He also was a fan of NASCAR.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jan Absher; daughters, Emily (George) Crittenden and Rebecca Jones; step-mother, Louise Absher; sisters, Sandra Sims and Diane Freeman; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His parents and son-in-law T. J. Jones preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Absher will be Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home with a celebration service of his life to follow visitation. Interment will be 4:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Gardendale, Alabama.
