Charlie Ellis Jr. was born to Rachel Annie Mae and Charlie Oliver Ellis, on February 11, 1948, and went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2024. He was raised on Childers Hill in TN. At the age of 18 he moved to Michigan to work for Chrysler, where he retired after 43 years as a welder and dye-setter. Charlie loved working on cars, his bulldozer and his pond. He stayed busy everyday of his life helping others. He was so proud of his entire family and friends, and his smile and laugh will be greatly missed.
Charlie Jr (AKA Papa) had two daughters, Linda Sue Waterman and Laura, who died at birth; adopted daughter; Deanna Fontella-Byrd; grandchildren, Brandon (Destiny) Waterman, Cameron Waterman, Dylan (Kandis) Hillier, Zander Ellis Byrd; great-grandchild, Landon Earl Waterman; sisters, Barbara McAfee, Anna Wilbanks, Audrey Ellis, Cathy Reeves, Betty Vaughn and Melinda Ellis; brothers, Paul Oliver Ellis and wife Miriam, Tommy Ellis.
Preceding him in death are brothers and sisters, Charles, Gene, Cleston (Bo), Bobby Sagely, and Dorothy (Sagely) Worthy, Wayne, Noel Ray Ellis and Francis (Ellis) Jackson.
