Charles Wayne Green Charles Wayne Green, age 77, of Jackson, TN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at his Jackson residence.

Born in Tishomingo County, MS, on August 10, 1947, Wayne made lasting impressions on everyone he met throughout his life.

Wayne had a long and fulfilling career spanning over forty years as a Station Agent, beginning with Southern Airways at the former McKellar Airfield in Jackson and continuing with Northwest Airlines at Memphis International in Memphis, TN. His dedication to service and efficiency reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession.

An alumnus of Jackson High School, Wayne excelled in athletics, showcasing his talent in football, and basketball. He later pursued higher education, earning a degree in Business Management from Union University. His educational achievements laid a foundation for his successful career and lifelong passion for learning.

Family was of utmost importance to Wayne, and he cherished the time spent with loved ones. He was very much a people person, endearing himself to many with his friendly nature and genuine warmth; he never met a stranger. Wayne’s love for family resonated deeply, and he took pride in being there for them at all times.

Wayne had a passion for golf, enjoying the sport not only for its challenge but also for the camaraderie it brought with friends from all walks of life. He also enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball during the time that his son played. His engaging personality fostered many connections and friendships that he valued greatly.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of over fifty years, Bettye Sawyer Green; his son, Brian Green, and his wife Jadith; his grandson, Jacob Green all of Jackson, TN; a sister-in-law, Shirley Petty of Palmersville, TN; a niece, Kelley Martin of Dresden, TN; a nephew, Christian Martin of Palmersville, TN; and a number of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Rhoda Lee Seaton Green.

A graveside service will be held in Wayne’s honor at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ Cemetery in Burnsville, MS, on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

Wayne’s kind spirit and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished.
