Charles Vernon Cook III, (Chip) 56 of Adamsville, TN passed away on April 1st, 2023.
Chip was born in New Orleans, LA on December 21, 1966, as the first son to Charles Vernon and Rhoda Cook. He and his siblings grew up in the heart of New Orleans until Chip entered high school, when the family moved to Largo, Florida, where he graduated in 1985.
Chip was passionate about carpentry. He worked at Sunbay Builders for over 30 years as a superintendent of construction and a master carpenter. Chip met the love of his life, Lisa Ann Bennett, and they were married on February 8, 1997. A loving and devoted family man, Chip and Lisa raised their daughter, Lea, in Largo, FL. Chip took great joy in fishing, shooting guns, and car shows. His family and friends affectionately remember his love for collecting Star Wars memorabilia, his sense of humor, and his fondness for Cajun food. Chip will be remembered most for his generous spirit, his kind heart, and his dedication to others.
Upon retiring, Chip and Lisa moved to Adamsville, TN to build their dream home. They lived happily together and were within days of finishing their home when they were tragically taken by the second tornado that started on March 31, 2023.
Chip is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Vernon Cook Jr, and Rhoda Cook. He is survived by his daughter Lea Christine Cook (fiancé Ben Thomas), his aunt Joyce Savoy-Hayes, his two brothers Damian Anti (Jennifer) and Craig Cook (Stephanie), and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Chip and Lisa’s lives will be held on April 16, 2023, 11am-2pm at Serenity Funeral Home in Largo, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
Lisa Ann Cook, 58 of Adamsville, TN passed away on April 1st, 2023.
Lisa was born in Buffalo, NY on November 3, 1964, as the third daughter of Fredrick and Monica Bennett. Lisa was raised with her three sisters in St. Pete FL, and graduated from Gibbs High School in 1981.
Lisa married the love of her life, Chip Cook, on February 8th, 1997 in Largo, FL. Together in Largo, they raised their daughter, Lea. Over the course of her life, Lisa had many jobs from being a bartender, a daycare teacher, a driving instructor and a mortgage lender, but her most favorite role was being a mom. She loved going to the beach, swimming, and watching sunsets. Her friends and family will affectionately remember her for her sense of humor, nurturing character, selflessness, and her endless love for her daughter, Lea. Lisa will be remembered most for her kind heart, and her adventurous spirit.
