Charles "Tim" Tillman Leaphart  On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, Charles Tillman “Tim” Leaphart passed away after a lengthy illness. He was 73. Born to Juanita and Tillman Leaphart, Tim graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington, SC, before moving to Atlanta, GA, where he met a young Waffle House waitress, Teresa, who would eventually become his wife of 51 years.

Tim was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who was quick to offer a stat or update about his fantasy baseball team. He loved working with his hands, primarily woodworking or restoring old furniture. Tim was always ready to strike up a conversation with a friend or a complete stranger. He could often be heard singing songs from the 1950s when the mood struck him. He was a collector of shot glasses and beer steins but rarely drank anything other than sweet tea or Coke (with LOTS of ice). He was many things to many people: husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and friend; and will be missed dearly by those who knew him.

Tim is survived by his wife, Teresa (Penn) Leaphart, children Michael (Karen) Leaphart and Michelle (David) Shaunce; grandchildren, Maya Leaphart, Jackson Leaphart, Grace Shaunce, and Jake Shaunce; half-brother Harmon (Kim) Leaphart; sister-in-law, Jackie Penn.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. followed by a service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. https://www.christopherreeve.org/
