Charles Thomas Gresham, age 82, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away at 1:07 AM on Monday, December 9, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Gresham was born on July 23, 1942 in Lawrence County, TN.
He graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1960. He attended Columbia State Community College (1968), Immanuel Baptist Bible College (1968-1972) and Boyce Bible School Division of Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY (1975-1976). He was a Southern Baptist preacher. He pastored many churches throughout his life, serving the Lord in Tennessee and Kentucky. He served as Trustee on the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1992-1999. He also served as Director of Missions for the Salem Baptist Association in Liberty, TN. He served as Trustee to Mid-Continent Baptist Bible College and on the Executive Board of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. He worked in the shipping department at Salant & Salant before he surrendered to preach the Gospel. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 8 years. He enjoyed woodworking, nature, gospel music, and attending bible conferences. He loved spending time with his family and serving the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lewis and Ella Anice Flippo Gresham.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Gail Wynn Gresham of Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters, Tina Gresham Nutt of Pensacola, FL and Tonya Gregory (Brian) of Central City, KY; one son, Ben Gresham (Diana) of Greenville, KY; four grandchildren, Kelcey Dillon (Jon), Derek Gregory (Jaime), Leighton Nutt, Asher Gresham; one great grandchild, Lucy Dillon; one sister, Marjorie Gresham Davis of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home Funeral on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Ronnie Gay and Bro. Arnold Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
