Mr. Charles Stephen Pressnell, 74 of Athens, passed away on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at Vanderbilt Hospital. Mr. Pressnell was born on April 27th, 1949, in Limestone County, to A.M. Pressnell and Rebecca Holt Pressnell.
Mr. Pressnell is survived by his wife of 50 years Peggy McBay Pressnell; sons Chad Pressnell (April) and Brent Pressnell (Betsy); grandchildren Ann Tyler, Titus, Chloey, and Caleb; sisters Mary Barksdale (Gerald), Brenda Edwards (Mike), and Charlotte Thornton (Steve); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister Patricia Freemon.
Funeral services for Mr. Pressnell will be Thursday, March 7th, 2024, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Bob Watson and Matt Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Pressnell, Titus Pressnell, Bryan Freemon, Patrick Edwards, Mark Pressnell, Glenn Pressnell, and Brandon Freemon.
Mr. Pressnell was an elder at Mt. Zion Church of Christ. He had been a kidney transplant recipient, with a kidney donated by his niece Becky Tully.
