Charles Smith, 91, of Elkmont, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Elk River Rehab and Nursing in Ardmore, TN.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hobbs Smith; parents, Hassie Lee Smith and Camilla Maddox Smith; daughter, Mary Ellen Smith; son, Michael Kevin Smith; brothers, H. L. Smith, Weldon Smith, Thomas Smith and Frank Smith and one sister, Margie Swing.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Smith; son, Charles “Kenny” Smith and one brother, James Smith.
Mr. Smith lived around the Ardmore area all his life and was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years where he survived the Vietnam War as well as the Korean War. He retired from Amoco Chemicals in Decatur, Alabama and enjoyed farming.
There will be a visitation for Mr. Smith at Ardmore Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM. A Chapel Service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Bro. Toney Boyles will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
