Charles Sloan Cox, age 82, of Florence, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Dean Olive officiating.
Charles was retired with South Carolina Cotton Growers and was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Hartsville, S.C. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sloan and Lois Tate Cox.
Survivors are his wife, Orpah M. Cox; children, Charles S. Cox and Jan C. Garrison (Tommy); brothers, Jack and Jim Cox; two grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
