Funeral for Charles Robert Pope, 53, of Decatur will be today, July 13, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with George H. Sawyer and Stacy Turney officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Pope, who died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his residence, was born February 3, 1960, in Thomasville to Thomas Carmon Pope Sr. and Jean Ellis Pope. He worked for Worthington Steele. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents, Robert Lee and Gladys Ellis and Charles Doris and Haudie Gray Pope.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Hunt Pope; two daughters, Shalimar Pope and Hannah Pope; his mother, Jean Ellis Pope; one brother, Tommy Pope; and two sisters, Debbie Ballard and Diane Jordan.
Pallbearers will be Keith Haaker, Bo Starks, Buddy Parker, Tim Dykes, Steve Pressley, Stevy Vansandt, Greg Moore and Tommy Brown.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur Dream Center.
