Charles Ray Fowler, age 76, departed this life on Friday, May 6, 2022, at his residence in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services for Mr. Fowler will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Carl White officiating. Burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Charles was born on June 9, 1945, in Henderson, TN. He had retired from Berry Industries. He was a member of Mercer Baptist Church. He loved his country and served faithfully in the United States Army. He enjoyed reading about history, deer hunting, gardening both flowers and vegetables, and mowing the lawn. He was a big NASCAR Ford Fan. He loved spending time with his family, and he loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Fowler; one daughter, Kristi Fowler Snowden (Jim); six brothers, Jimmy Fowler (Eddie Dale), Joseph Fowler (Patricia), Ricky Fowler, Donnie Fowler (Pat), Danny Fowler (Maurine) and Bruce Fowler (Donna); five sisters, Virginia Boggs, Carolyn Watson, (Arthur), Doris Jones (Billy), Betty Swafford, (Jerry) and Janice Moody (Collice), two grandchildren, Julia Snowden and Caleb Snowden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud Fowler and Velma Helms Fowler; one son, Wes Fowler and one sister, Vernice Fowler. Pallbearers for the service will be Ricky Goodman, Ricky Allen Fowler, Danny Ray Fowler, David Fowler, Keith Watson and Bradley Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Tritt, David Brooks, and Scottie Morris. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
