Charles Ray Bolton, age 79, of Leighton, died Monday, September 7, 2015. His family will receive friends Thursday, September 10, 2015, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Phillip Potter officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bolton was retired from Sheffield Utilities, served in the U. S. Army, and was a member and deacon of Faith Missionary Baptist church. He served on the Colbert County Board of Education for sixteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents; Douglas and BeEtta Hester Bolton and his brother, Douglas Bolton
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Bolton, daughter; Jennifer Rai Verdun and husband Todd of Washington, PA, sisters; Marie Gattman of Sheffield, Ima Jean Hutchins of Muscle Shoals, Lucile Hester and husband Denton of Tuscumbia, Nancy Borden of Birmingham, grandchildren; Luke Verdun and Gemma Vernun.
Pallbearers are Greg Borden, David Gattman, Doug Gattman, Larry Hester, Randy Hester, Chris Hutchins, Scott Hutchins and Justin Lanfair.
Honorary pallbearers are Dwain Clement, Jerome Staggs, Phillip Palmer, O’Neal Hicks and Patrick Walker.
