Charles Ray Boger Sr.In memory of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and person with the kindest heart, giver of his time and love of the Lord, we are hosting a Funeral Celebration for Charles Ray Boger, age 79, of Danville. Service will be held on Friday June 21, 2024, 2pm at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm prior to service.

Interment will be in Red Hill Cemetery in Moulton. Officiating will be Brother Dewayne Woodall and Stanley Linderman, with a celebration to honor his life.

Mr. Charles, who died Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home was born April 17, 1945, to Albert and Ailene Long Boger. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Shelby Faye Banks Boger and his parents.

He is survived by, one son, Charles Ray Boger Jr. and wife, JoAnne, of Decatur; one daughter, Karen Boger Bowling and husband, Kevin, of Decatur; two grandchildren, Kristian Matthew Bowling (Lydia) and MaKenzie Brooklyn “Kenzie” Bowling; two brothers Mickey Joe Boger (Renata), John David Boger, and one sister, Betty Ailene Campbell.

Pallbearers will be his loving nephews; Patrick Banks, Phillip Banks, Shannon Boger, Shane Boger, John Boger, Gary Linderman and Britt Harvel.

Charles Boger worked for 25 years at Fruehauf and in his retirement enjoyed driving for Lynn Layton Chevrolet. He was a member Family Baptist where he made lifelong friendships and attended Decatur Baptist with friends and family.
