Charles Ray Alldredge, age 85, of Cordova, went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL
Visitation will be Friday, December 1 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens, Barbara Cleveland will officiate.
Mr. Alldredge was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years-Elsie Dean Short Alldredge; parents-Allen and Viny Gilbreath Alldredge; sister-Jeanette Alldredge Daniel.
He is survived by his three daughters-Deborah Alldredge Black, Donna Alldredge Bell (Alex-deceased) and Charlene Alldredge Caraway (John). He had 5 grandchildren, Miranda Lyn Walker, Howard Alexander Bell, IV (Jennifer), Laurie Beth Weldon (Wes), Charles Allen Bell and John Melville Caraway, III. 10 great grandchildren, Sadie Elise Walker, Kylie Lott, Kathryn Mabrey Calloway, Anna Kate Bell, Aubrey Malyn Calloway, Caleb Alexander Bell, Ara Tess Walker, Alli Grace Bell, Jacob Michael Bell and Wren Paisley Weldon. Niece, Cheryl Elkins; nephews, Danny Daniel, Jeff Daniel and host of other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alldredge was retired from the State of Alabama Highway Department after 33 years and Dawson Bridge after 15 years. Mr. Alldredge was a member of the United Methodist Church of Union Chapel and a member of the Masons.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Froshin for his compassion and care over the years and Amy Hamiton, R.N. of St. Vincent’s Hospital, who was an angel to him and our family.
