Funeral services for Charles R. (Buck) Comer of Corinth, MS will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Acton Chapel with Bro. Jetta Forsythe officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Memorial Park at Corinth, Mississippi. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 25 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Acton Chapel and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time.
Mr. Comer was born August 13, 1943 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Alexander and Hazel Ruth Rickman Comer. He departed this life on February 22, 2014 in Corinth at the age of 70 Years, 6 Months, 9 Days.
Buck, as everyone knew him by, was a member of North Corinth Baptist Church. He was a Foreman with Corinth and Counce Railroad and a self-employed Truck Driver. He was a member of theTri-State Fly Wheelers Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed reading his Bible and restoring cars, trucks, and antique tractors.
He is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Stella (Thompson) Comer of Corinth, MS; four sisters, Maggie Webb, Jo Rickman, Linda Hurley, Sue Pickins; four brothers, Dubert Comer, Bill Comer, George Comer, Harold Comer; two brothers-in-law, Travis Thompson, Charles Thompson; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Comer was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Bishop, Louise Bishop, Brenda Kay Comer, Deloise Ann Comer; three brothers, Ray Comer, Hubert Comer, Lee Comer.
